HSBC & processing delays-Australia

O.P.
Hi,

I applied for a HSBC credit card a week ago online and got conditional approval for $5000. The email asked me to fax over a copy of my licence and a bill which I have done.

So it has been 10 days now since I did it with no word. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a answer from the bank? Also what does conditional approval mean? Does it mean I passed the credit check ect?

It does say allow 10 days for processing

Thanks for your help

Means the bank is looking at it manually imho. Normally credit check is done only for 5-10 mins in AU since we have central credit filing. Might be since someone from the bank needs to verify your docs. But not more than 2 weeks.

Try calling up. U should have reference no. for this anyway.
