HELP => The basics of when to Cancel after points used?

Hi All,

I have been playing the points game for the past year. It has been rewarding.

I, along with everyone else, want to churn, re-apply, and benefit to the MAX

I now have some "Annual Fee Waived for 1st Year" cards maturing.

AMEX says they will transfer my Business Gold card acct. to a non Annual Fee Card.

I did a Walmart Discovery Card "$20 off $100 purchase" twice now (cancelled right away, and then reapplied a year, or so, later)

So, my questions are

When do you cancel a card, so you can re-apply again?

What are the "Rules of Thumb" on this topic?

!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE !!!

i do not browse this forum, so if my Q is common and boring... sorry

Yes. Your question is common. And boring. Thanks for admitting you want us to put in more work than you for your own question.

At $20 per sign up, I'd be wanting to hasten churn time as well.

bobsofi,
Please do some basic keyword searches, and studying, then come back with any followup questions.
