What makes you think there's a deductible?
Do you have any personal auto insurance that covers you for rentals? Most -- but not all -- credit cards provide insurance that is secondary to any other insurance you have.

Search for "Amex Premium Car Rental Protection" on Google. It costs you $24.95 per rental, but becomes the primary coverage for up to 100k with no deductible. Make sure that your personal coverage will still cover you for liability however.

But the included coverage with a Visa (or an MC) varies according to the exact card you have. So you have to read the coverage for the exact cards you have.
The vast majority of included coverage (on Visa/MC) is primary only outside the country you reside in, and is secondary to your own insurance in your own country. A rare few are primary always:

IMHO, AX is much easier to work with on the CDI.
This is based on: 1. being involved in a car rental on AX where the car was totaled and there was no other insurance. AX paid up without a whimper.
2. experience with attempted claims on warranty coverage on Visa (doesn't want to pay and doesn't pay) and AX (pays up right away, no problems).
