Applying for BoA Cards

I have been searching through this forum for a master thread on BoA, but could not find one.

Basically, in a couple of weeks I would like to apply for the Fidelity Amex and the AS 25k with $100 cash back offers. I have an old BoA cash rewards card from 1998 that has quarterly 5% promos like the Freedom card and pays 1% on everything else. Their categories are usually different than Discover or Freedom, so I would like to keep the cash card for the 5%.

Reading other threads on this forum, I found a couple of posts over a year old that talk about not being able to get 2 BoA cards on the same day. Another poster said that when he applied for the Schwab card, BoA closed his cash rewards card without his permission because he was not allowed to have two FIA accounts.

So what is the current situation with BoA? Are people getting approved for 2 cards on one day? If so, are the pulls merged? Are there any more reports on BoA closing credit card accounts to open an FIA account?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I applied for both cards on the same day last month, but it was the 40k AS offer. It took a couple days for the Fidelity, but I was approved for both. FWIW, I now have 2 FIA accounts. I had a Hawaiian Airlines card before applying for the Fidelity.

There was a 40k offer for AS last month? Where did you hear about that? It seems I don't' see as much info about the AS visa as a lot of the other cards.

Thanks for the responses. They were helpful.

I don't see as much about AS on this board, either. I assume it is because it is a smaller airline, and the bonus isn't as big as some of the other carriers like AA and United.

I once applied for two Hawaiian cards from BoA and Bank of Hawaii (the card was administered by BoA at the time) and got approved without a hitch. A little different from your situation, but I believe it's possible.

Anybody knows if the AS business card gets reported?

I looked it up on the One Mile at a Time blog, and there are a couple of things worth noting. First, the $75 annual fee is not waived. And it requires $10k of spending in 6 months. The link seems to still be active, though.

It shouldn't get reported to your personal credit report. But if you have other business cards, you also have a business credit report in your name. The business card would be reported to that business credit report.
