I was under the assumption that the impact of hard inquiries correlated inversely with the Average age of accounts.

so again I ask.. is this graded as an F and does it matter? I am afraid of getting past the 10th pull in total as it will drop a grade.

It must be 21 on one bureau. Except in rare situations, if they check your credit report they don't see the inquiries on all bureaus, so a 3 bureau combined number would be meaningless.

21 inquiries is almost certainly graded an 'F' (by just about any scale) because I'm sure that most people with 21 inquiries are people with bad credit who can't get approved for anything, but keep applying anyways (thus digging themselves in deeper).

Sure, you "can be" successful with a ton of pulls, but once you start hitting double digits, it's generally time to cool off. But the best indicator is the "too many inquiries" rejection. Haven't gotten it yet? Good news, you're batting at 100% and are good to go. Got rejected for too many inqs? Probably time to stop applying for a bit.

Do auto-loan inquiries matter? I have 18 inquiries on my Experian, 4 of which are same day for an auto-loan... blah...

Is it normal that same card apps seem to pop up in all three reports?

I need Ink Bold, AA Plat, and M&M cards in 3 months... Hope I will be fine!

I have 17 according to Credit Karma, which is an "F". That includes two refinances (including one that was two pulls because the bank was slow and my first report expired before closeing). Just applied for and approved for the Chase Marriott card a couple of weeks ago, which is I think my 5th Chase card in the last year. It wasn't instant approval but I forgot about it and didn't call only to get an e-mail about 3 days later saying I was approved.

I have 14 inquiries on Credit Karma. The last one was just few days ago from applying for the Barclay Arrival card. Had to call to recon, and the rep made a comment on the number of inquiries, but approved me anyway.

I think CreditKarma shows only TransUnion inquiries, i.e. Barclay.
Chase & CITI pull Experian and CreditKarma does not show them.

Citi pulled TU on me yesterday. At least I am assuming it was Citibank, it's listed as CBNA.

My last CITI card App in Feb. did not (and still does not) show up the pull on CreditKarma / TU.

Maybe for you.

Most issuers pull depending on location. For example, Citi always pulls EQ for me.

I currently have 37 on Experian, 12 on Equifax, and 15 on Transunion. I try to do an AOR every quarter or so, and I really don't care how many inquiries I have as long as they are over 90 days. 90 Days is enough for my scores to jump back to the 760 range as long as I don't have any balances.

You don't get swamped with 'too many inquiry' denials with those kind of numbers?

How long is your credit history?

I have between 8 and 9 that are less then a year old (3 or 4 more then one year but not more then 2 years old) among the 3 credit card bureaus.
I put myself on probation for a home refi which closed just 2 months ago and all of those 8 or 9 are just 2 or 3 months old so you can tell I've been busy!

I value my hard pulls at about $400 (or $500 if there are hoops to jump thru) minimum and I don't really think I would not apply because I knew credit karma was going to give me an F (it's a D now).
I fully expect to be declined for a card at some point in the near future but when is the question I'll leave up to the CC companies.
