Question about minimum spend deadlines.

I was working toward my $6,000 spend ($3,000 each) for the AA Citi Visa and Amex cards. I had plenty of big purchases to make, no big deal to get it done on time. Then, I got busy and distracted and stupidly I almost missed the deadline. I called customer service to ask for the exact date, and it turns out I was calling on the last day I had to meet the spend! I was surprised by this and immediately went online and spent the remaining money I needed to spend (I had about 22 hours to spare before turning into a pumpkin).

Now, what the customer service rep couldn't tell me was whether the transaction date needs to occur by that magic day, or if it's the posting date that needs to occur by then. Does anybody have any insight here? Am I in the clear, or will my transactions post after the deadline passes, making me SOL.

It doesn't have to post, just need to make the charge by the date.

Good to hear. I guess I just barely made it. That's the last time I make a mistake like that.
