Is the new card better than SPG 30k?

I'm still deciding whether to try applying for the SPG Business card again, I last had it 26 months ago....

My wager is Sapphire Pref w/2K spend comes back, since its been suggested that the past roll out was pulled due to marketing snafu's and was likely to return.

If you don't have SPG, you can get it Tuesday, then finish your remaining apps Wed / Thur. The inquiries are instant anyways, and the new credit line won't post for several days.

I hope not...then FTG would post it in the Sapphire Pref thread. And really, a $1k spend reduction isn't worth a "Hold up" thread is it?

I'm hoping it's something like a 2011 offer: a 75k AA???

I have a feeling come Wednesday morning, FTG, TPG and every single BoardingArea blogger will be touting this new card/offer so they can get their affiliate bonuses.

Just not sayin' it very clearly! You made it sound like someone is in the process of robbing a bank branch at this moment and it's going to take two whole days!

(If you meant to say that something of interest is comong on Wednesday, I think you could have phrased it more clearly. I'm not sayin' you had to reveal more clues, just suggesting clearer phrasing for those who don't already know what you're talking about from other contexts...)

And if FTG's post kept me from signing up for a lesser offer today (say the 50k AA), then I will happily use his affiliate link. He posted the info where I prefer, and gave me info that nobody else had. So, that's a value to me and I think it's only fair to reward that by using his link. Once the offer is in the public domain....the blog itself would have to bring a value for me to use the link(s).

Now if all this hoopla is over a lousy $1k reduction in spend...a pox on both your houses FTG

To be fair, it's been pretty low-level hoopla.

Very true - but seems like a hint of something big, not a minor adjustment.

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on some apps (just refinancing now), so he has my hopes up for a return of the glory days of 2011. And yes, I know that is all conjecture and wishful thinking on my part

Yeah, I think you may be getting ahead of yourself. His post was a pretty mild and chilled one and I think taking a mild and chilled approach is best. Offers will come and go and you'll miss some and you'll get some. On and on. As long as you get enough offers to meet your personal ambitions, I think that's all that is necessary. I know some FTers go after points like they were looking to win a marathon or some such--like the person with the most points "wins"--but for me, it's just about being able to fit my vacation plans.

I think keeping things modest helps me keen sane. Life's too short to spend every waking minute seeking points.

if you're on this forum, you either:

1) already have CSP
or
2) don't have it but can handle an incremental $1k of spend over 3 months through various methods.

If it is CSP, maybe it's back to 50K. Though I bet it's something else. No other blogger has said anything.

I'd welcome any reduction in spend, even $1k, on the SPG. It's the high long-period spend (to get more than 10k), not whether it's 25k or 30k total possible bonus, that's been keeping me away from the SPG card.

(I do realize the $1k reduction in spend was being mentioned for a different card.)
