highest ongoing cash back
Looking for a no annual fee (or at least first year free) Visa or Mastercard earning highest percentage of cash back (i.e., not travel points) for all spending. Lots of 1% cards, but anything earning 2% or even 1.5%? Thanks.

Fidelity (issued and administered by Bank of America):

Capital One

Priceline

There are also various cards which award different rates for categories of spending, which may average above 2%.

Are you using it for anything in particular (hotels, airlines, general spending)? For personal use, I like the Chase Freedom card where it gives you 3% back on your top 5 shopping categories and 1% on everything else. Besides that, they also have a rotating 5% quarterly promotion that you have to sign up for. Depending on the season, it could be 5% back for hotels, gas, groceries, etc. Cashback on this seems to be best at least from what I can tell. 100 points = $1. There is no annual fee for this card and I have seen a signup bonus as high as $300 before. It's currently $100 signup bonus now.

I use the freedom card all the time - it is unbeatable for cash/points for everyday use.. it's now the only chase card that I have.. i had a southwest card and was denied for a saph preferred.. will probably try for a saph preffered again in 2013 or 2014

Most of the legacy Freedom, and Freedom Plus accounts were long ago converted...

The current Freedom cards have a different rewards program which offers 5% back on capped rotating categories chose by Chase, 1% otherwise.
