Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

I wonder if you purchased money order or just withdrew from Walmart's ATM? what are the fees from ST and Walmart? I read someone's ST accounts got closed, but am not clear if it is related to Walmart transactions? is this still viable?

    thanks.

It took a while, but Suntrust did ok by me.

I had to send a couple of Customer Service emails, but they did do their research and came to the right conclusion. Wish it didn't require me to police them, but they did OK under the circumstances.

"Kstew, I am replying you with the details of the research request which I filed for you. I am sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced. We’ve added the missing 10k enrollment miles to your account, which we backdated to 9/4 (you already got 5k of the 30k promo on that date). We’ve also confirmed direct deposit on your account and have added the remaining 15k promo miles for that. These adjustments should be visible on your Delta account within 3-5 business days"

That is sooooo wrong! We run a kinder, gentler Spanish Inquisition these days. When we waterboard you we only use soft water now.

Ugh, the inquisition already crushed me. Methinks they're out looking for other victims.

I got a letter today from Suntrust stating they are shutting my account down in one month with no explanation to why. Whatever, as long as I get my $75 annual fee for the debit card back I don't care. I hate Suntrust anyway. I only bought maybe $6K in money orders at Walmart to pay bills so I assume this is why they closed the account but nothing in the T&C state you can't do this.

Did you get your 6k of miles? That's the real question.

Can someone explain this to me?

If I buy chocolates, I never get points. But if I buy health food, I do get points. If I mix the two, I only get points on the health food but not the chocolates.

For example, if my bill is $245 with $200 in chocolates, I get only 45 points.

    How do they know?

This is why this card and all similar cards are dead or dieing and all you will do is waste your money on spends and fees and get cancellations.

Who knows what computer sites if even Credit Bureaus see cancellations especially Forced Cancellations. They may not show it on the quicky report you can see but what about the 10 pager the bank can see if you ever need a loan or another CC.

Think of how if you had a ticket dropped or a charge dismissed in court and get even a small issue years later, the computer knows EVERYTHING YOU EVER DID or were even accused of believe me. A record can be expunged in court and cost you thousand but law enforcement like Credit always has access unless somehow you can get a judge to also grant expungment to government officials which is only 25 times harder than to expunge it from the public.

Sure would suck to be banned from Visa new accounts or even Bank of America and other banks like Chase

If you recall your Blues Brothers movie, those on a mission from God can justify anything. The terms and conditions all have loopholes to shut you down for using accounts for "other than their intended purpose." Some are just lucky and get shut down quicker than others, but surprise and fear and ruthless efficiency are the two weapons of the Spanish Inquisition. Oh, damn, that's three weapons - can we start this skit over? Biggles - you take it over from when we came in through the door....

Being banned from Chase would be the real killer. Chase is vital to funding bank deposits.

Everyone really needs to pull their real credit reports to see what the banks see. Typically, there are errors in there that you gotta get fixed.
