churning Explorer card
Until several years ago, I regularly churned Chase's United-branded credit card. Eventually, chase caught on, and while they would issue me new cards, they would not give me the mileage bonuses.
Now that Chase markets its United-branded card as Explorer, any chance I'd be able to get a sign up bonus one more time? Ditto for Explorer business card, too.
Thanks!

United Explorer is considered a different card than the old United Mileage Plus credit card. Therefore Chase gives new bonuses for the Explorer card. Only thing that stops you is if you have a current Continental cc or got one within the past 7 or so months. The new United Explorer is the old CO One Pass.

Hello. Its been a liitle while since I've been on Flyertalk & I was looking for something like this specifically. I received notice that my CO cc was being switched to the Explorer cc. My 1st yr fee hasn't come yet nor has the new cc arrived yet. Could I still possibly cancel the CO in order to get the next Explorer bonus. I also have the United Select (keeping that). I is there another forum where they're talking about this?

There was a lot of discussion of this. If your CO has already been converted into a UA Explorer, you may not get another bonus for a new one.

I remember reading some official words from Chase that the ineligibility cut off is July 2011 - that is, if your CO card is obtained after July 2011, you would be ineligible for the bonus on the UA Explorer card. There are a few posts about people still have their CO OnePass Plus cards open (converted to UA) and still able to get bonuses on the Explorer cards.
