Need advice on a new cc

Hi I am hopping one of my fellow flyertalkers can help me out and give some input on which new credit card to get. That is giving a great bonus
i have spent the last couple of days reading thread after thread after thread and i think i got myself confused.

to tell you a little about myself, as like you i love points and i am in need of 1 possibly 2 new credit cards

this is what I currently have
1. Amex Mercedes Plat
2. Amex Starwood
3. Citi thank you preferred
4. Chase freedom
5. Blue (which I never use just keep it cause I transferred my line of credit to the Starwood )

I am looking for the best non annual fee card the only one that seemed appealing to me was the chase sapphire.. can you give me your opinion on what I should get.

Side note - airline credit card doesnt really do it for me as I am exec platinum with aa and have well over 2,000,000 miles. And for hotels I am sticking with Starwood.

Reason I am looking for a new card is I am looking to spend more money on cards and between the Starwood , citi, chase I tend to go through them fast and often have to pay down in the middle of the month and hate to do that. And plat is for business only.

Hope you guys can help me out..

Thanks

There's also the Am Ex PRG or Plat card. PRG has 1st year free also with 25K sign up bonus, Plat has $450 fee (not waived) for 50K sign up bonus. I've also got Chase Sapphire and love it for places that don't take Am Ex.

If you will mostly use for Gas/Groceries get PRG (it gets 2x on gas/grocery).

If you will mostly use for travel/dining get Chase Sapphire (it gets 2x on travel/dining).

If you don't want a charge card, then I'd do Sapphire Preferred. Like I said, I have both PRG and Sapphire Preferred, and use them wherever I get bonuses from (Sapphire for dining, PRG for gas/groceries/airfare (airfare gets 3x on PRG)).

Just curious, any reasons you don't want a charge? Is there a negative I'm not aware of?

to keep it short

recently had an issue...... was out of the country longer than expected and was late on one of the payments. the company locked all my accounts and was stranded... i use a private bank and have to been in person to transfer a large sum... i was overseas 20 days over expected and bottom line had to get wire transfers from other accounts. bottom line was starnded cause i only had that companys cards and felt that i was at their mercy.

The Sapphire has a 0% foreign transaction fee. It looks like that would come in handy for you. IMHO, the Sapphire is the best card out because of Ultimate Rewards and their transfer partners. Also, the 2x points on meals, travel, and entertainment.
