Year End CC summary

Started with a Chase CO personal (10k limit) and BIZ (12k limit) CC from 2008

Feb 2011

Approved - Chase CO personal, bonus rejected

July 2011

Approved - CITI 75k personal VISA (6k limit)
Denied - CITI 75k personal AMEX
Closed - CHASE CO (both of them)

Sept 2011

Voided - CITI 75k BIZ visa
Approved - Chase 2-free-night HYATT

Nov 2011

Approved - CITI 50k/$150 credit BIZ visa

I called to cancel the CITI 75k personal and got a $85 credit + 1k miles for 1k spend for 16 months. It isn't that lucrative and I was planning on cancelling the card, but I took advantage of a 0% APR BT promo until Jan 2013 for cash flow purposes.

I want to focus on hotel programs and was planning on doing a churn for the HHilton cards, but the 35k --> 25k bonus + changes to redemption put that on the back burner.

I want to close my chase BIZ account, but I've read elsewhere that I can use that large credit line to approve other apps if I need to.

Should I just hold on to all the cards now or can I start consolidating and throwing them away?

I plan on closing

CITI AA personal
Chase CO BIZ
CITI AA BIZ as soon as i meet spending

I want to jump back from *A in 2012. I gave AA a chance, but they seem to be an expensive airline that is all about the buck and not too much bang

EDIT:

All-in I have accumulated 125k AA miles + 2 free HYATT nights (already redeemed). Not as lucrative as most, but still pretty good.

Would love to see how others did this year

This year I received:

Jan. 75k AA Visa
75k AA Amex

June. 50k Chase Sapphire
75k AA Biz

Sept. 80k Priority Club
30k SPG

Nov. 50k SW RR
40 US Airways

I played it a little safe, but I also refinanced my house and took out two auto loans. Overall, not a bad year.
