How long does it take for AA miles to post from Amex?

Signed up for both Visa & Amex Citi AA cards. Spent the minimum req'd for both cards a few weeks ago. The Visa miles posted almost immediately. The Amex have still not posted. I have received the Amex bill (but not paid it yet), miles calculated correctly, called Amex & verified they have the right AA number. Are they waiting on my payment? l (Haven't even received the Visa bill yet.)

Citi never requires bill payment before posting the miles.

Are you saying that none of the Citi Amex miles posted, or just the bonus miles? There have been some reports on FT that when a spend requirement was met shortly before a statement closing date, the bonus miles did not post until after the closing date of the next statement.

Just strange that it's the same cc entity (Citi), but instant miles on visa and taking forever on amex.

No miles at all from Amex have been posted, but they all appear on my statement.

Usually they post within a week of the statement cutting. How many weeks is "taking forever"?

seems 'forever" i guess because it was instant on the visa. Ok. I will be more patient! Thanks.

Just last week I had 75k post from the AA Amex 3 days after the close of the statement when I reached minimum spend. I had called the day before - rep said "up to 2 additional billing cycles".

They usually post within a few days. I seem to recall a few people posting on the old AA thread that it was taking longer but don't recall how/if it was resolved. Maybe wade thru that thread? Tho if they didn't come back to complain, that suggests it all worked out.
