ATM card withdrawal question

I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong place, but I could not find an appropriate category. My account is in the USA. I have been withdrawing a few thousand U.S. dollars (overseas) this month, somewhere around $5000. I got a call on my voice mail at my U.S. home to verify this withdrawal. I was not aware they did this with ATM's. I knew they did this with credit cards. Is there an official specific amount that they will raise a red flag when money is withdrawn from a bank account through ATM?

Chase calls when there is a change in your activity, especially foreign activity just to verify your card wasn't stolen. I received a call once when I used my debit card in Austrlia to buy gas. I normally call the bank before I leave to notify them I will be out of the country.

Large Cash withdrawals can raise all sorts of flags
