Going to go from Silver to Gold and i know that effectively makes winning the grand prize impossible as i'll be a low-end Gold member.

That's an interesting point. How does a Silver/Gold/nonelite do as much credit-earning activities as they can to try and win without pushing themselves up to the next level where invariably others have earned more? Hmmm.

Yes, it's an interesting 'game theory' problem.

How could a general member max out on mileathon points WITHOUT getting bumped up to Silver? You'd actually have to do activities that accrue lots of mileathon points without generating lots of EQMs or segments. (hotels and car rentals and credit cards, perhaps?).

But since the prizes are going to only go to *one* person in each category, it's like lotto: effectively impossible.

I don't know whether to post in the original thread or this "clarification" thread. Here goes:

I see where I have to book a car through continental.com to get credit for this promotion.

Q#1) Do I have to use CO's discount code? I ask because I have a cheaper AWD code I use for Avis rentals.

Q#2) Can I book through continental.com and then change my FF# to another airline? Would it still count for this promo because I booked through continental.com?

Q#3) Can I use a coupon code? I have an Avis coupon code for 5K DL SkyMiles for any 4-day or longer rental. If I can't use a coupon code then I would rather not use the rental for this promotion. I also have a Budget coupon code for 3K DL SkyMiles for a 1-day rental.

Thanks in advance.

Hi CO_Nonrev_elite, in this version of Mileathon, you will indeed earn credit for one-ways. These will post at half of the roundtrip credit. In addition, the bonus credits you get for booking at continental.com will post at full value (the online booking bonus is assigned on a per-ticket basis).

What about a roundtrip where fare class categories are crossed like an outbound in Y and a return in W? Or something more complicated like a Y outbound with a V+W (legs different) return? How about booking credit? I couldn't find anything in the terms and conditions clarifying this. As the points may make people book in different fare classes ideally they would be documented. Thanks!

Clarification: Mileathon Credits for Mult. Debit Cards/CCs

Looking for informed insight on this question:

If I open two checking accounts (one personal, one business), with one debit card each, will I receive 40 credits?

If I open two CC accounts (one personal, one business), will I receive 60 points?

The wording under terms and conditions mentions limits on some items (i.e. shoponepass) and unlimited points on others (i.e. car rentals).

Thanks!

Additionally, since there is no 60 credit milestone, what happens to the secong thirty. With one credit card we geet 30 credits and 500 miles. Do we then get to use the 50 credit milestone for 10000 miles if we don't do anything else on the list of promotions?

Could someone post or direct me to the page that shows where you track your Mileathon earnings.

I looked throught these threads and on CO.com but I can only find the register page.

Thanks

Also I had registered for a prior promo for CO which was:

"Tix booked July-August earn 500 bonus miles - Max 2,000" {Paraphased}

What was the name of that promo and when should they post?

Anyone else remember this promo name or details?

I agree that this stinks. In London now. Look into Z and D fares. The IAH-LHR roundtrips cost about $4500 in Z and $5500 in D, depending on availability and advance timing. Yes, I'd rather buy an A fare at $3000, but I guess you gotta pay to play.

As someone who is unable to OLCI on many of my international flights, will I at least get credit for trying? ( I have had my passport scanned, manually loaded and CO wecared without success)

I own multiple businesses (each are separate entities) and am getting a Chase checking debit card for each one. I also am getting a personal checking account. Is each one eligible for the 20 credits? Or can I only get one?

It looks like only one. On the page where the earning potential is defined each repeatable event is explicitly identified as such. The CC sign-ups do not carry that verbiage.

Any update on the tracking page on CO.com for this Mileathon Promo?

srodr Oct 4, 2009 8:12 pm

Does anyone have the actual promotion code to register for Mileathon? I am trying to register some friends, but I don't have their pins to actually sign in to their accounts.

Mrp Alert Oct 9, 2009 3:36 pm

I created and Evan! refined a tracking document for Mileathon. Download here and let us know what you think. It autocalculates how many points and miles you have earned as well as allowing you to track when points post.
