The weekly Friday summer storms at EWR

They're baaacccckkkkk.
We are having the trees whipping around in our backyard and its a very dark and stormy night already. We're 15 miles West of EWR

Just in time for the Summer Travel season, and just like last year, Friday's have the worst weather.

Good luck at EWR

Could you send a little of that down here? Delays at AUS cause less havoc across various airline systems than they do at EWR. Also it is 103 degrees here and I would like it to cool off.

I came back from golfing and a black sky was following me on 80 East. It turned into a nice little t-storm with heavy rain and winds.
Im happy that Im not flying in or out of EWR this evening.

Yeah, i'm in YYZ waiting for CO 573, which was supposed to go an hour ago. We're still awaiting "updates", and I'm supposed to connect there to another flight.

CO 86 is diverting to YYZ because EWR is apparently experiencing "severe" thunderstorms, according to the GA here in YYZ.

It was pretty bad here, Im 10-15 minutes north of EWR on NJ TPK, the thunder was very loud and the lightning very frequent.

I'm guessing the 17 hours 35 minutes early was due to the flight leaving after midnight? Cause according to my math, that's actually 6.5 hours late. Seems to have gotten better now though.

We got some nice storms here in NY Metro. I know it brought down a few trees and power lines, making a mess of train service.

my daughter is on CO 16 - LAX to EWR, but diverted To Norfolk, VA (ORF). It's back in the air and heading for EWR right now, "only" 3 hours late.

It was nasty out there tonight. It's still lightening with a strobe effect.

I'm about 25 miles south of EWR.

Count me in on the 'South of EWR' crowd TOO !

PS-- just watched the 'extended' forecast for the NYC area.....while it is expected to be warm and sunny over this weekend, the RAINS return each and every day starting Monday--- including next Friday. So any of you travelling next weekend, you just might have a delay or two

Thumbs up Kudos

Yesterday's CO 3264's delay reminds me of many a delay as I've flown EWR-PIT each 3 months for years.

But I still love CO.

Anyways, yesterday's storms were very violent as I commuted west on I-78 past EWR's NJ-21 exit around 6p and am glad CO had a safe day in operations.

I knew it was bad last night when I landed in CLE at 7 pm and walked past several gates with flights to EWR - especially the 2:40 flight - which had gone out and then came back to the gate. The line at CS was huge... probably all the missed int'l cx at EWR. Bad way to start a vacation for those folks.
