Flight costs

Just a random question -

What are some of the more expensive flights that you have seen on Co.com. For example looking at weekend flights for EWR-YUL this summer are floating around $500-$600.

Last year for work I flew EWR -Burlington, VT on an almost empty plane for work $800 roundtrip (For work of course)

Typically FPO/FLL runs around $300 RT with taxes.

An EWR-BOS-EWR r/t flight could run $650+ for a walk-up/day trip. That was particularly painful but matched the Shuttle pricing that UA/DL used to run. I don't know if CO has cut their prices to match DL cutting theirs.

There are plenty of very expensive routes out there, particularly in the full Y fare bucket.

I bought an EWR-ATL flight earlier this year for $1700. This was in the Y bucket and purchased on my Blackberry on the way to the airport. Too bad it was a week prior to the DEQM.

Conversely, my EWR-ORF flights have been running $134 RT with tax.

In general I am finding transcons via IAH/EWR to be expensive this summer from DCA/BWI - most in the $350 to $600 range - even if purchased more than 14 days in advance. I got a couple of DCA-SFO - but they were over $500/ticket 21 days ahead - even with many open seats.

$$$$

I've flown EWR-GSO 446 miles for $1050 on 6 day's notice and short stay. You can go to Hong Kong 8060 miles for much less than that!

EWR-MEM was also around $1000 without a Sat. nite stay.

IAH-YYZ on short notice/under 3 days is $2026 + taxes & fees. This is on a B fare and is the dreaded 3.25-3.5 hr ERJ flight.

OT, but I wonder why they wouldn't consolidate and make it 1 737-500 or something. Probably has to do with connections. (maybe 1 737 and 1 ERJ then?) are there any longer ERJ flights than this?

CLE-SYR. It cost $850 for a Y fare. It was booked 6 weeks in advance and all they were selling were Y fares. If you didn't stay over a Sat., you got hosed. So my client got hosed. Yet the flight was full (Kenjet full that is).
