Why is COntinental pulling back at BDL

First we lost the IAH non-stop, then instead of jets to EWR we have Commutair twice a day and now Continental has deleted their 3:30 flight to EWR. The last flight to EWR now leaves at 1:30, leaving hours and hours to connect to Europe. All the other carriers are adding flight to Connecticut and Continental is deleting them.

Does anyone know why?

They are pulling back in a lot of the smaller markets in the east due to light loads and to ease congestion at EWR.

Now you at least have a chance of making the connection thanks to the expected delays on the BDL-EWR flight, right??

My guess is that CO is looking at BDL, realizing that both US (which has a club at BDL) and to a lessor degree UA have larger operations and CO can piggy back off them once they enter STAR.

Could be completely wrong, but that is my hunch.

As with any decision like this, apparently CO analyzed the numbers and decided it could more profitably (or less unprofitably) deploy equipment and resources elsewhere.

Too bad for me...fly out of BDL, prefer to avoid NYC and BOS if possible and find the TATL network for CO to be great. Guess they think if BDL people really want to fly CO they will drive to EWR.

CO reads FlyerTalk and has decided that they don't want you on their planes anymore, seeing as how you do nothing but complain. They chopped BDL solely as a favor to you. More proof that they listen to their customers.
