What is up with seatmap for IAH-FRA? nonstop flight with equip change
I'm taking CO50 IAH-FRA and then CO51 FRA-IAH
This direct flight has a layover in EWR both ways, with change of equipment (obviously this is different from a connecting flight?). It's a semantic difference; that's ok.
At purchase it let me see four segments, and I picked seats.
In my reservation, the seat selection map doesn't show four segments, but only two segments (there and back). It is trying to show me four different seat assignments in the text below the map. In the seatmap, it doesn't show a colored seat for me on the way out.
Is this normal? I guess the CO website is more confused than me about this "two hour layover to change planes" being a direct flight?
Can't wait to find out where I'm actually sitting, haha.

You should be able to select seats for all four segments.
If not, call the Continental.com support line and have them seat for all of the segments.
It is considered a "direct" flight, not a non-stop.

Should, but cannot because of the issues with the direct flight. It is one of several known issues with booking the direct versus a connecting itinerary. Calling in should allow for seats to be assigned but it won't work online.
The OP will also not be able to EUA on the domestic segment IIRC because of the "direct" selection. And fewer miles.

Call. Last time (several years ago) that I had a direct flight, I ended up assigned to a "K" seat on a 752

fugacity, I'm taking the exact same flights next weekend (5/16-17) and had the same problem when trying to select seats. Thanks for raising the question! I will definitely call CO and see if it can be dealt with.
