Bag question from a newbie

I'm flying CO on a domestic flight (economy) for the first time on Friday and being new to both CO and the US I was wondering if you're able to take two pieces of hand luggage on the aircraft e.g. a wheelie bag and a laptop bag?

Yes, you should be able to. As long as your roller bag fits in the overhead bin and your laptop goes under the seat in front of you, you're golden. You're allotted one carry on and one personal item; laptops count as a personal item.
