Now I'm confused. Another person was upgraded. Assume Ngu, T was also mileage upgrade or how did they get upgraded without my wife getting upgraded?

[QUOTE=Wilco_FT;11667271]Now I'm confused. Another person was upgraded.
Been there myself and it indeed seems you were wronged , However heres a couple of reasons its legit;
1- NGU didnt check in till they got to the kyosk in the airport so they had a higher fare basis tkt but since they didnt checkin they were never added to the list , once they in fact checked in due to their fare they jumped to #1 position and got the UP
2- NGU offered to pay up at the airport to whatever fare they needed to be confirmed in FC rather then remain #27 on the list. they thusly went from a L fare to a B with confirmed FC at the time they became a B farer
3- NGU was booked on a different flight in a Y and changed to this flight, bing FC available they are UPed then and there
Ill leave the above but just noticed the flight is for tommorrow and its 26 hrs out and there is a SBY list. I take it that those on the SBY list already are connecting to this flight and thereby were alreaday able to do OLCI for their 1st flight. Anyone whos has this as their 1st flight cant checkin till 7:15pm IAH time
NGU can be a passenger that is also connecting but was suppose to today but for some reason wasnt on their originating flight and was rebooked for tommorrows set of flights
This list will keep changing, if you were flying say out of EWR at 5:30am and connecting to this flight then you could have checked in this morning at 5:31am NY time say you did you probbaly would have been #1 if no one else had a flight before yours anywhere in the World. Pt by tommorrow morning you can go from #1 to # 101 all legit as higher Elites or people with higher fares same status check-in
Then EUA will still be done and the list you see has nothing to do with the EUA list. So if CO decided to open 1 more seat for EUAing then #1 on that list gets it and not #1 on the pda list which is the airport list
I have Faith in my fellow CO FTers and they will add the other 100,000 legit reasons why this can and does happen

I just had a similiar situation. I am a Plat going on flight tomorrow at 6:00pm at 5:55pm I was on the standby list for an upgrade. IAH-SFO at 6:01pm the upgrade with miles cleared. They waited until the absolute last minute before taking my miles. Why make me sweat it so bad. I was about to redeposit the miles and let the EUA process take place.

Fortunately, the UG just cleared! Ahead of the Silver EUA run and the point where EUAs take priority over mileage upgrades.

[QUOTE=Wilco_FT;11667547]Please see original post to see we are talking about mileage upgrade versus EUA. CO Insider weighed in already. Different situation.

seems TUR also got the UP
enjoy
also what I said is a happenin VYE was #3 in your post and now is down to #7, well with only 4 seats left they might have thought with 6 available they were a sure thing now they have to hope for 3 no-shows. i realize it doesnt pretain to you just added it for others to understand what was happenin and why not to get too over postitive, cause as Y Berra put it so well,Its not over till its over, theres no UP till they tell you so

Not to beat a dead horse, but...
So I guess I am in the same situation. As a gold member, used miles from my account to upgrade on a DCA-IAH-SJU flight this Thursday 07 MAY. The IAH-SJU flight #1753 cleared right away, but I was placed on the "waitlist" for the DCA-IAH segment (flight #259). I know its a highly trafficked elite route and have watched as First class fills up.
As I understand it, those getting upgraded (excluding people buying B-up fares / first class tickets) should only be Plat's on mileage upgrades or Gold/Silvers on mileage upgrades waitlisted before me and not EUA's, correct?
The DCA-IAH flight departs at 12:20pm Thursday so at 12:21pm Wednesday EUA's kick in and my mileage upgrade is no longer a priority until at the airport and the standby list is used, is that also correct?
Seeing as the San Juan flight is relatively still wide open, I could assume a EUA for that segment would have cleared and I wouldn't have had to use the 15k miles, especially when there is a good chance it wont clear on the DCA-IAH leg. (The only reason I used miles was to ensure the upgrade a month ago in order to sit with my friend on a reward ticket since we are all going to San Juan for his bachelor party- I'm a groomsman)
Anyway, my question is if the mileage upgrade doesn't buy you anything in the 24hr & 3hr mark, what's the point of using miles if I will just be put behind the EUA's- Platinums and Golds on higher fares as I'm on a L fare, if I could stand to get my own EUA on the IAH-SJU flight. Basically why burn 15k if I could have gotten the IAH-SJU portion for free, besides peace of mind of course
and is there any sense to just canceling the Series 0 upgrade and letting the EUA's run their course? And is there a fee for Gold's to do that- sadly I'll be back to Plat after this flight...
Thanks for your thoughts!

Assume the remaining questions are mainly rhetorical. Hopefully the enhancement gets put in place soon!
