I am 8000 points short of a round trip and these are the ones with 1 layover 8 hour flight trips :S So I estimate I would have to spend $120 to transfer enough points from my account to my moms so she can have enough for a round trip. I guess this 120 is cheaper than buying a full round trip for $350-400 for example.
Is the estimate taxes of $70 USD for a round trip?

Do either of you have miles/points elsewhere that could be transferred (like in Membership Rewards)?
