EWR Connection Question

I am planning to fly IAH-EWR-BOM in June. The 1 pm departure from IAH (to EWR) is $50 more than the 2:20 pm departure from IAH (to EWR). But the connection time for the BOM flight is only 50 minutes on the second flight.

Is 50 minutes enough to connect at EWR for the domestic to international connection flight.

It's enough, but it's a little risky since EWR is always prone to delays. Since EWR-BOM only operates once a day, I'd go with the longer connection time.

All other airports - probably YES
EWR - probably NO (thunderstorms, too much air traffic in general - afternoon specifically)
