The word 'battling' seems a bit over the top. "Managing the issue", "Dealing with the problem..." are phrases that we tend to use.

My sister, a very frequent flyer, was on this flight and described the experience as harrowing. I haven't had a chance to visit with her yet, as she's tending to serious business... but her message was not a good one. Interested to see how few outlets have picked up the story.
