What is the status of:

Now that we are in 2009 I wanted to know if anybody had any news updates on the following:

1. Codeshare and mileage earning with Air Canada: When will this happen as I am looking forward to trying them out and other Star Alliance members.

2. New BF: Supposedly they will start installing the new product on existing aircraft but when will this start? Any idea when all the aircraft will be completed?

3. New 777s: I remember CO is supposed to receive two new 777s from Boeing this year with the new BF and will supposedly fly to China but were then delayed due to the strike. Any word on when they will show up? What about the 777s destined for base in Guam??

Thanks and I apologize if there has been any recent updates on the above listed items.

I expect these will be some main topics at DO IV.

1. When the *A transition is done - 3rd or 4th quarter this year...nothing more specific than that.

2. There's a thread about it; I forget exactly when. There should also a pretty easily findable CO press release.

3. Whatever Boeing had told CO regarding deliveries probably is no longer accurate thanks to their strike. They ordered the planes with starting the PVG service in mind, and the recent tinkering of IAH-LHR may have something to do with a delivery delay.

Hell is still hot...I know Larry has said he's cool with doing it, but I doubt it's a priority.

I know, just think it is cool. I grew up flying with my dad in airplanes on the weekend and always listened to the transmissions on the head phones. I understand why it might be delayed just would be cool to have.

In CO's SEC filings last fall (towards the very end, or shortly after the strike ended) they indicated that they postponed delivery of the two 777s, as well as a number of 739s, from 2009 to 2010. I'm sure that in addition to the obvious economic factors, the strike delay was also a significant contributing factor to this postponement, especially when it comes to the 777s.

The 4500 world wide layoffs that Boeing has announced is a further inidacation of the demand for aircraft at the moment.

Channel Nine would be nice, it makes the flight go a lot faster.

I find it extremely important to listen to other pilot (and ATC) transmissions when flying. I am a private pilot. ; )
