Charting On-time arrivals
There are times that I want to determine if a connection is reasonably safe or not so I refer to flightstats and look at their Performance Rating chart. But this doesn't exactly tell you the time period covered or give you that much detail. For instance, I may be interested in CO 28 for a flight in July from EWR-LHR due to arrive at 6:45am and I'm thinking about an 8:45 connection to Budapest. What I've done, is one-by-one, checked a number of flights by date from June and July 2008 to see exactly how late they were and put them into a spreadsheet so I can how many flights would be a problem, or if certain days are more problematic than others. I admit, this is probably overdoing it, and if I'm so worried, I should just make an 11:00am connecting flight. Nevertheless, I was wondering if there's a place on the web that I good just get a list of departure/arrival times for a certain flight for a certain time period rather than searching day-by-day.
Perhaps this inquiry would be better served in some other forum. If that's the case, I would appreciate it if the moderator would move it to the appropriate one.
Thanks.

Flightstats.com will give you a summary for the last 2 months, I believe after you log in.
CO28 is rated as 0.0/5 for on-time stats. For the past 62 flights, it's on-time (<15 minutes late) 25.4%, late (15-29) 16.25%, very late (30-44) 11.17% and excessively late (>44) 10.16%. Average delay is 31 minutes, maximum 171 minutes.
In short, not a good idea to book the 8:45a.

Two hours is simply too close a margin at LHR to change carriers and terminals.

OP, these seems a lot of work when one should never consider a connection with a change of carriers at LHR of less than 3 hours. You'll likely have to change terminals from T-4 to either T-3 or T-5 to get on your BUD flight. This can easily take 30 minutes alone. Add deplaining, the long walk, reclearing security, etc it can be very tight even for ontime flights.

1. AZ arriving LHR at 11:25 connecting with VS at 2:00.
2. AZ arriving LHR at 11:25 connecting with VS at 4:00.
3. BA arriving LHR at 1:30 connecting with VS at 4:00.
Obviously, choice 2 is safest, but it means getting up really early to drive to FCO from wedding the night before in Viterbo. I Like #3. Too risky or doable? I'll be flying business without checked luggage so check-in time should be minimal. So which one?

Are you on a single ticket or seperate for each airline? I ask because if on seperate, you'll have to build in time to check in at LHR. This could mean you'll have to go landside to recheck baggage, etc.

Seperate tickets, which also means we're not protected in the event of a mis-connect. We won't be checking luggage on CO, and hopefully we can carry on luggage on BA or AZ unless their size requirements are exceptionally stringent. And I assume I can do OLCI for the VS, CO codeshare flight. But won't we have to go landslde in any case from shengan to an TATL flight?

You'll have to check with CO on if you can OLCI for a codeshare flight on VS. That can be complicated some times and can vary by route. For such an ITN on VS, i would work on the assumption that you'lll have problems and have to check in at LHR. Data exchange between the carriers can be problamatic. But, you should be able to check in once you reach the VS area.
However, what I'm not sure about ( I don't reacall since I've always been on a single ticket in transit through the UK) is if a boarding pass to your onward connection is required to clear security in the transit area. I belive it probably is, but you need to check that. If it is, should you not be able to OLCI, you'll have to clear customs and immigration and go airside and check in with VS in T-3.
If you were on a single ticket, I'd say 2.5 hours for a connection would be ok. However, with no protection, you'd be hosed should you be 1.5 hours or more late for whatever reason. You'd likely get charged money to rebook on another flight. They generally don't have the concept of same day stand by on international tickets.
