Fall From Grace
I'm currently Platinum elite but lost my job shortly after the beginning of 2008 and have not flown CO this year. Just curious if I will lose elite status altogether or drop to Gold. It's the least of my worries right now, but I have a potential opportunity that will involve alot of travel and was wondering if the first 25,000 miles will all be in coach?!

That said, if you can get to 25,000 miles between now and 12/31 or 1/1 and 3/1 you'll at least maintain silver

Have you thought about getting Delta or Northwest to do status match?

You also might ask CO for a buy-in. I've bought up to Paltinum a couple of times over the years. I think they base it on total Elite load, but if you explain your circumstances and lay out how much travel on CO this new opportunity will generate, they may accommodate you.
You won't know if you don't ask.
Good Luck

Doesn't he still have from January 1st all the way through the end of February to enjoy the benefits of Platinum, which in those two months if he flies quite a bit, couldn't he reach at least silver, and continue elite status through 2009 non-stop?
