My "account" shows that I ate my way to almost 78,000 miles. It was sometimes an adventure finding the restaurants in various cities but, thanks to the program, I stumbled across some really good ones. Then. . .there was the one in NYC with the rat problem. It was good while it lasted - at least with One Pass. I'll switch my "eating" to the Alaska program. On a related matter, my program participation offers up - to me, at least - nearly 78,000 reasons why I don't get too upset when Continental in an effort to remain solvent imposes a fee on reward tickets. I'm hardly a high roller but it hasn't been altogether difficult to amass many frequent flyer miles. Sure, I just "paid" about $350 for a pair of reward tickets to Paris and Venice on Air France in business class. When 78,000 of the 200,000 miles used for the tickets arguably came from dining out over a period of years, I just can't get worked up about the fees. If the tickets weren't free, compared to their retail cost they were the next best thing to free. The lunches I bought in the dining program weren't free and I guess I just never expected two business class tickets to Europe to be totally "free" either.

I've occasionally used it. I guess I can switch back to earning Delta miles since I had signed up for theirs when they were offering a 5000 mile bonus.

not in my email

I'm sure the mention of OnePass iDine being terminated was targeted it wasn't mentioned in my e-mail statement and as most of you didn't get the offer code for flights between GUM and CNS that I got in my e-mail. Well, I got 48,500 miles out of the program and there aren't even any participating restaurants in GUM.
Most of the restaurants on the list weren't bad. I just had dinner at one tonight. I did find out from a phone representative at iDine that the restaurants vary in participation. Some are on the nwa side (or other airline) and some are on CO. Most are on both or all. So if you saw the number of restaurants declining, it might just be those on the CO side.

Cleveland had a pretty good selection of places participating in the program.

I was 10 miles/$ at my local sushi place. When the pipe burst and flooded our kitchen and we were without a stove, oven, sink for 6 months I must have gotten 10k worth of miles just getting local carryout.

It was a nice miles supplement for me.

No - why would CO terminate a program on a targeted basis? That simply makes no sense I'm afraid. Far more likely that the statements are not all sent out in the same batch and you will see it in your next one.

The target I was referring to was whether I got the notice in my statement, not whether it was being terminated at all. It might actually make sense that I didn't get the notice in my statement since there are no participating restaurants in GUM and the address in my OnePass account has a GUM mailing address. I guess I'll check my August statement to see if it is mentioned there since it didn't show up in my July statement.

Thumbs down Open table website reservation needed at too many places to get the points!

It is not a bad idea to have the Dining points credited to an Airline program, that you have some miles in it and do not fly, to keep your points from expiring in the program.

It seems all the places I eat at want you to make a reservation via Open Table website to get the points! It is a hurdle and I don't bother to make a reservation on the web site!

This blows

Any qualified dines completed by OnePass Dining members prior to and/or on October 31, 2008 will receive the appropriate mileage reward level. Dines that occur on or after November 1, 2008 will no longer receive OnePass Dining benefits.

You may choose to enroll in the OnePass program today and earn miles for your dines through October 31, 2008. Your membership will continue to be subject to all the terms and conditions outlined below and in other pages on this web site.
I earned a lot of points using this. It was good while it lasted. I guess I'll have to switch over to Delta. These deposits will help keep the delta account alive.

+1. OpenTable rules, but then again, I have a bias.

I'm not sad to see this go - no good places save for one in my area, and it was a pizza joint. The only redeeming feature of said pizza joint was shrimp scampi pizza. However, there's a bar closer to my house that does better pizza (absolutely heavenly thin crust) and I'd rather do quality...in addition, the girlfriend isn't much for seafood, and we like the aforementioned bar. Meh - no big thing.
