never flew into CLE so I did not know this lumming threat existed. More than a horse hair I would say.

BTW really got a kick out of the thread title, had not thought of that story since Latin classes

It has been a chuckle watching all of the airports efforts to keep these birds from roosting, including raptor recordings and maintenance staff clapping wood together loudly. To be honest, it is amazing to see how many of them perch on the overhangs, which in themselves are a neat looking feature.

Too bad we cant get some of the regional peregrin falcons from nesting nearby - they have done a great job of reducing the pigeon population culled downtown and in my neighborhood in Lakewood (including a couple surprises in my backyard!).

Sword of Damocles?

Just from the title, I thought maybe one of the cables that hold up the "paper" airplanes at the end of the trans-concourse tunnel broke. Although, that would be aircraft of Damocles, wouldn't it?

i love this part
"We had the sound of a hawk," Szabo said. "We played them through audio devices. After a while the birds started to laugh at us because they realized there wasn't a predator up there."

the whole thing makes me think of seinfeld...we have an agreement with the birds. they move out of the way of our cars, and we overlook the statue defamation.

or the far side comic when the birds are in the tree and everything has a target on it...but i can't find a pic online.
