status match

I live in seattle and am 1K on united and Platinum on delta but given merger of NW/Delta and possible merger of UA/Cont i was thinking of switching my delta flights to continental and seeing if i could get Continental status match.
Is it possible to match at platinum level on continental?
Also, is there any way to do this online?

I don't know of a way to do it online. Some people have reported receiving a status match by contacting Continental directly. Keep in mind that it's harder to get upgrades on CO than on DL.

No way to do it online. You'll have to call it in and then likely fax or mail a statement in from the carrier you're matching from. And CO is more likely to match from UA than from DL.

As for why you are matching status, I wouldn't do anything until early next year when the merger(s) have played out in full. There will be plenty of time to match then, and you won't waste a one-time match or otherwise spend more time on a carrier that you aren't going to fly with in the future anyways.

there are many threads about matching status on CO. The general consensus is that they will match up to Gold and will not match to a Plat level. That may change once DL/NW finalizes and CO/? happens.
Status matching is a once in a lifetime possibility so I would wait until the dust settles.
