Connection time in EWR

Can anyone give me some advice, I'm flying LHR-EWR-RSW in a few weeks time. Continental changed one of my schedules, which has now left me with 1hr 15 to connect in EWR. Is this enough time? I have to clear customs, get luggage and change terminals and then go back through security.

Does anyone know what continentals minimum connection time is in EWR?

Thanks

There's been many threads on this issue. The short answer is maybe, but certainly far from guaranteed. I would say your chances are 65-35%. The biggest issue is your flight needs to land on time. Then, it depends on fast you get through immigration and can collect your luggage and re-check (drop-off). Your chances are definitely better if you carry on your luggage.

If you deplane more than 20 minutes late OR wait more than 20 minutes in the passport line OR wait more than 30 minutes for your luggage to emerge, you won't make it. If you're on time or better and don't check bags, your chances are excellent.

Got the answer, Continental have now changed the minimum connection time to 90 mins so that booking was not valid (thanks for letting me know continental) They then wanted me to go through Houston with a shorter connection time of 55 mins. I've now got a refund going to fly to MIA direct and drive for 3 hours.

Its the 2nd time I have now cancelled a Continental flight due to schedule changes, you never know one day I might fly them. But things like this put you off.

Just for the record - if you were on the 4pm LHR departure, and it's late day arrival into EWR - this connection time would be no problem with no checked bags, and doable with checked bags. I did this flight last Tuesday, and was land side in EWR less than 10 minutes after exiting the plane, with no checked bags. Even with a C-A terminal transfer I had more than enough time to spare for some food and then sit for 20 minutes once air-side again.
