EQP Question

This is probably an easy question....

I'm flying on a Y ticket on a 1-stop flight from DCA to SNA through Houston (flight number does not change). Will I get 2 points or 4? I want 4, obviously, so I'll switch flights if needed.

2 points per segment since it is a Y ticket. So, 4 total.

But isn't that considered one segment if the flight number does not change?

I missed that part in the original post - my mistake.

A very good question. The mileage calculator on CO.com says a round trip in Y will earn 8 points. However, if the flight number does not change, the mileage earnings are calculated as a direct flight DCA-SNA so maybe the points would be that way as well.

I'd reticket it as CO559 DCA-IAH, connecting to CO559 IAH-SNA, using the multi-destination search function.

---

Price difference is $2.50.

I heard (read) before that in OP's case (one-stop flight with the same flight number), OP can call CO and sprit PNR to DCA-IAH and IAH-SNA.

I haven't done it myself.
