2008 Mileathon
UP for me.
One beef... no credit at all for "R" tickets. As it happens, CO is not on my employer's approved carrier list. Only way I can go CO is if the fare is significantly lower. "R" (and sometimes "Z") takes care of this. For March TATL travel which I'm booking next week, it'd be "R". "Y" or "H" would get mileathon credit, but not an "upgrade" to "R".
Not sure if this was true for past Mileathons as I haven't been targeted since "R" became a relevant fare class (also, changed jobs).

What triggers an invitation to this? This is my second year now with CO status and still no Mileathon invites for me...

I got it... so does one only earn credit after the join date?
Or can I request credit for prior trips/check-ins/purchases?

I had a few credits done retroactively during the Q4 07 Mileathon. They take a while to credit, so if they're not there by teh end of the month, email CO.

Baglady Jr. got targeted - yeah! She has a fair amount of travel during the time, so it works out well; just tough since she's too young for a p club acct. or CC - but she'll live
Mr. Baglady and I were targeted 07 Q4 so I wasn't expecting it this quarter.

Hey neat, I got targetted for the promo. No chance of my earning credits for full-fare flights but at least I can get some check-in credits and perhaps even some booking credits.

oooh, I was targeted. It doesn't look like I will come even close to winning, but who am I to say no to free miles, too bad they are not EQMs as well.

So, anyone have thoughts about the exclusion of "R" class fares from the Mileathon?

Here's the fine print:
"Online check-in and booking credits will be awarded only for A, C, J, D, Z, Y, H, K, M, N, B, O, V or U fare classes."
Last year we had 2 of 24 (1 M and 1 N) This year'll be the same with more flights at bottom fare classes. I guess that this part of the 'Targeted' group is being incentivized to spend more for each tix which is not gonna happen here since none of ours is subsidized by a company. The only way we'll see more than the lowest Mileathon level is if our Chase Banker decides to comp the Mrs a Continental Airlines Presidential Plus Card.

Will I receive credit for flights during the period even if they were purchased before I registered for the mileathon?
