Flight transfer at GUA

I will be flying CO to GUA and then connecting with TACA to SAL.
Can I check my luggage through to SAL with CO ?
Will I have to clear immigration at GUA if my flights arrive and depart from the same terminal ? I have only 1 hour and 20 minutes between flights.
Thanks for any input.

IF - you can check your luggage through you could MAYBE pull this off, but I am doubting you can do that because GUA is not really a hub where people make connections. Most flights simply start or stop here.

When you get off the plane in GUA there is no seperate goto Customs containment area (at least a few weeks ago, the airport is under construction) you just go thought the general terminal area upto where people enter from the security checkpoint, hang a left and go down stairs to Immigration, and then baggage claim and then head outside.

With 1:20 I am pretty much thinking you are screwed either way as depending upon which side of the terminal you are in, they tug in the planes since there is no charts yet for the taxi ways and construction, and I normally figure at least 1 hour from wheels down to being out the door if you have to reclaim your bag. They have a big belt but just 2-3 carts and on tractor that they are switching out.

Down here we call this a Fijese - I would change to a later flight.

Thanks, wtshef
Both CO and TACA use the same terminal. It sounds like I can exit CO and walk over to the TACA gate and check in. If CO cannot send my luggage through to SAN, I guess I will have to carry it aboard both flights.

I was in GUA yesterday. If you have all your boarding passes already, it really is not a problem, just walk from one gate to another, no security to go through. The works might have progressed, planes are not tugged to their gates, so my flights were on time, 1hr20 seems like plenty of time.

Now if you have to re-check in or have luggage that needs to be re-checked in, 1hr20 is very short, so check that CO and TACA interline, and double check that TACA took your luggage before you board flight #2. Check, check, check...

Booze and cigarettes are pretty cheap at the duty free shop if you have time, and if it is open...
