Need quick help
Hi,
I may need to go to PHL in the next week, however because of ticket prices I may buy a LAX-EWR ticket. Does the airtrain service to from EWR-PHL? How long would it take, any info.
Thanks

AirTrain to EWR train station, then Amtrak to Philly or NJ Transit to Trenton + SEPTA to Philly (cheaper, more annoying).
Amtrak is a single ticket (inc. AirTrain fare). $50 or more total each way.

Hi again,
I booked into PHL. I am on a (Q) fare. Departing I will ride in coach, however on the way home I would like to upgrade to first class. When I get to PHL to return to LAX could I buy up if seats are available? Around how much would it cost? I would want to do this with two tickets, as I will have a companion.
Thanks.

CO doesn't sell upgrades at the gate, with the exception of Hawaii. You have to pay the fare difference plus a change fee if you want to sit up front.
I assume you don't have enough Onepass miles to try a mileage upgrade?

There was a multi-page, very heated thread on this forum a few weeks ago about someone trying to upgrade a whole family at the gate last minute. This poster is used to other airlines' buy-up program, and basically got into a fight with the supervisor at EWR. He ended up being barred from the flight, together with his family. I don't want that to happen to you.
BTW, I won't call PHL-LAX a "short trip", even if I'm used to going to HKG.

If you are willing to pay the fare difference and change fee, why not call and do it now? You probably will get a better fare right now the later.

If you get a really nice agent, they may be willing to waive the $100 change fee but I'd plan on having to pay it -- you can do this online as well through co.com. That way, you can use the seat map to pick your seats up front while you are at it.
