I experienced some upgrade shenanigi last night at SMF. There were two men in uniform that I wanted to upgrade (well my wife would have upgraded one and I the other) so I asked the gate agent and they said F was full. This was not the case earlier in the day and all the people on the upgrade standby list were non-revs but none of them were upgraded. I let it go as I figured they sold the seats but highly doubted it as there were 6 open seats 30 minutes prior to departure. Once we got on the plane another GA came in and asked a pax to switch seats so his friends (looked like they could have been his aunt and cousin) could sit together then leans down to hug the lady who I suspect is his relative, which he wouldnt have done if they were normal pax. These people did not show up on the upgrade list and sat in seats that were empty just 30 minutes prior to take off.
While thats great that GA's have the ability to upgrade their friends/family, they should upgrade elites, companions, and their fellow non-revs before they give it to others. |

Do you have something against the region of the U.S. in which you live?
Seriously though, I'd rather see New Orleans win (and win it all) just for that city and what it's been through over the past five years. That and I've never been a Favre fan. |

Given my Favre feelings, the worst possible case would be for NYJ to lose today and MIN to win. The best possible case would be for NYJ to win and MIN to lose badly  |
For the Box's reference - I linked the the sparkling tea website earlier today (I had purchased during a buy one four-pack, get three four-packs free "promotion"). While closing down Firefox windows, I noticed there's a coupon to try one free at Whole Foods.

Just turned on my Out of Office message at work. Tomorrow, ORD-LAX-OGG. ^ Sounds wonderful. Wish I had booked more time in SJO. I never made it past the TreeTree near the airport, which turned out to be an incredible hotel. By far the best TreeTree I've ever seen. Room was on par with one of the new-build, new-design Sheratons, and the common areas were ^^^ (lots of stone-work and jungly plants). |
