That's why we're going back. We did ~2.5 weeks in '06 as well. Kauai and the Big Island on that trip.

And, I got a snorkeling-suitable enclosure for my camera, so I should be able to take underwater pics this time, which is especially great since our Kauai condo is right next door to some of the best shoreline snorkeling on the island.

We stayed 3 nights at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach, because we wanted to do Dukes on Sunday. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Store opened the morning we were leaving Oahu, and being good PHs, we did some power shopping (and shipped the goodies home from there). Then did 4 nights in Wailea. :-:

Then back to reality...

March 2009 was my 3rd Jimmy show in Waikiki. He stays at the old Mandarin Oriental. We were there for dinner 2 nights before concert and ran into he and the band. Mac M. was so cool with his dark socks and sandals.

He should be in concert in March -- I will be there.

Was that the show at The Shell? Or did ya catch him at the Beachcomber?

I should be so lucky.

Good night, North American Box.

Good (early) morning, PRG Boxers.

Guess I'll miss another chance to meet Boxers. I'll be FFNing it up at the HR Waikiki on the 8-10th. (and spending the 2 weeks prior on Maui and Kauai)

Will be in Kona on the morning of the 6th if that matters. Otherwise will miss you like the rest of the crowd.

But you will be in Hawaii - I was there once and I really miss it. Probably because it was the best vacation I ever had...

Must've been some vacation! I'm not a huge fan of HNL at all. I'm looking forward to driving ITO to KOA and seeing the big island and the bits I've apparently been missing but as far as I'm concerned HNL is pretty awful.

3 shows at the Shell. What makes more sense -- paying $250 for 2 questionable tix in LA (poor venue) or $75 each for great seats in Waikiki. My former boss and I met there last year -- GF couldn't go. With a $350 flight from LAX, it is so damn cheap you have to do it... ^

Fins up!

I hate myself for doing so. Good value for the miles and I've managed to come up with a decent way to spend the overnights, doing some diving and decent food for cheap, but I really dislike the city.

I have embraced HNL due to our treatment at the Hyatt. There are some great places to eat, and there is something to do after 10. Maui was beautiful, but it was boring at night... (to us)

Can we PWP to next milestone tonight?

Reasons A -> X was the company :D
Reason Y was the location.
Reason Z: It was my first 'real' vacation - I had been taking care of mom and dad for 10+ years, and everything else was basically a long weekend when I could. They both passed away the previous year.

When we make it back, HNL would be just one day - a Sunday. Then back to Maui. Then mebbe off to ???

Trustguy Jan 15, 2010 10:44 pm

Really, can we?
