I edited my post. SCL may have a departure tax. I visited LIM and SCL within a few months of each other, and don't have a clear memory of whether SCL had a departure tax (though LIM clearly did).

The other thing about Santiago is... don't expect cheap. Prices there were on par with what food/drinks/etc. cost here in Teh Pit.

Buenos Aires and Lima are noticeably cheaper cities.
