We go to a little store front wine shop in PSP when we go there. It is not overly snooty, and the folks are down to earth (not wine snobs). With one or two other couples, we have taken the place over and have had a nice private happy hour. The place has tasting notes which spurs on conversation about the wine, although it isn't required.
I schedule and populate corporate wine tasting events for my company. We try and do 10 folks from our firm and 10 folks from a law firm/CPA firm and do intimate tastings. One of our employees does the wine part. I am known as the director of wine events. |

Yikes - I don't really consider that 'wine tasting' -- after having been to other locales where there are incredible wines to taste!;)

This year we have the McLaren Vale in South Australia on the schedule, the Barossa is an event of the Oz Fest, and we are also planning to visit an area in Austria. We really like the Austrian style and since that wine country is so close to Vienna, it may be feasible this time to do before and after the DO wine road trips in September.
