So you have line cards? I thought everything was coming in over SIP.

I don't know that he would leave the airport; he might have his brother and daughter with him. I'll mention it to him in any case. I've never known him to turn down an experience to see something.

If he does decide to go to Bruges, put up the  sign. I spent a lot of time there the year I was in Belgium (though I can't really recommend cafés or restaurants, since I didn't have any money then -- but that's more the province of our MLK Day traveling colleagues anyway).

No problem. Apparently I am not the only person at the beer distributors asking for Shiner Bock. I will keep my eyes open.

It is available at the big wine store (Total Wine) in Delaware, so you may have more luck than I did.

Trustguy, will you be in LA on March 22 or 23?

I believe I will be around (I hate to be somewhat evasive, but that is the reality of my schedule for now). Where are you going to be?

Don't know exactly. Probably Beverly Hills (assuming the trip happens).

Has anyone done the TKTS same-day last-minute thing for Broadway shows?

My office-mate is a substitute percussionist for West Side Story and finally, there is a date that he's playing for which I am free to go - i.e. tomorrow night. Unfortunately, Saturday nights are the one performance that the BroadwayBox coupon isn't good for, and I would really rather avoid paying the full  price if I can avoid it.

It says that the booth opens at 3 - realistically, should one be in line before then?

(Also, if I have to go into the city that early to snag a ticket and then need to hang out for a few hours before the show, might anyone be around Midtown/Times Square and interested in food/drink? I can't commit to a firm timeframe at this point but if anyone is free and potentially interested in company...)

2-3 miles from my office; 4-5 miles from home. PM me with details once you know. My work calendar those days are wide open (for a lunch). Cocktails appear to be do-able. ^

I've done it, although it was many years ago. I stood in line starting at around 1:30ish but the line moves quickly and it was interesting while I waited talking to the other people in line.

I got great seats for every show that I wanted to see because I was a party of one. I don't think I sat further back then 12 rows from the stage and usually near the aisle.

Night, Box. First day on the job: 6am Monday.

carsonheim Mar 5, 2010 9:04 pm

okay, let teh    begin......

i can haz miles for this??

last Friday I was flying IAH-SAN at 2pm. had EUA confirmed 5 days out. couple hours before the flight, I'm sitting in AUS ready to board for IAH and I check the PDA site and notice that IAH-SAN is cancelled. So I called elite line and they said they had accomodated me on a 6pm-ish IAH-SAN flight. In a middle seat.

Well, that just wasn't gonna work for me, so as soon as we touched down in IAH I went to PC, and they got me on a IAH-LAX, then LAX-SAN flight. The LAX flight was leaving in 15 minutes, just about 2 gates away (yippee!) The PC agent confirmed me in first, hands me a sheet of paper and says "run!"

Got to the gate, and the GA says, no you're in coach. We just gave that seat away. Okay, fine with me. I just want to get to SAN sooner rather than later.

So the burning question is, am I due involuntary downgrade compensation? I'm not too sure how the whole thing works...

let the    begin!!!!

I haven't gotten anything at TKTs in ages -- but it does make sense to get there early. I believe there is a location downtown (South St Seaport?) that opens at noon, or thereabouts. GL!^

I have used TKTS before. Got there at the time they opened, and there was a butt-@ss long line. I got kinda crappy seats. Get there early.

If there is no one around to hang out with there is a great Sephora at TS! I can kill a LOT of time in there!
