Nope, still here.

Turkey soup is assembled -- waiting for about 30-45 minutes to eat dinner. ^ We also baked banana bread with the leftover bananas from last week. It is about 90 degrees in here with all of the various heat sources plus the outside temps...

This lady is not funny.

Fairly soon, the west coast will begin to see the closing ceremonies.

We are home and glad to be here.

Thank you for all the messages today. This is a tough time for Plus1 and his brother and sister. She was their last remaining family member (because we're not counting the idiot that is their uncle as family; he and sfogate's sister would get along well).

My sil and niece flew home yesterday via IAH. I had given them both some drink coupons and when I spoke with our niece yesterday, she was drinking a very large beer. After a three hour layover, and having had very little sleep, she left a FB message for said idiot uncle that was quite . Deserved, but . . . She may have said all the things sfogate is wanting to say to her sister!

Was upgraded at the three hour mark (changed tix yesterday to today); was surprised as it had been booked full; then one seat opened up but I was #2. I told Plus1 I would decline it so that I could sit with him (one of the rare times I would ever do that ;) ) but he said no. Not only had they not catered my precious Coke Zero, but there was no and I mean *ZERO* alcohol on board. FA said it was a "catering issue" and they'd been having "catering issues". Let me say, there were some very, very unhappy folks. I heard one FA tell the other that people were asking for comment cards but they didn't have any of them, so they were writing down 800-we don't care for them. I felt bad for the FAs, who were excellent.

On the drive home, a shuttle driver was cutting off drivers and driving about 20 miles over the speedlimit. I called and spoke to someone at their corporate who first told me they'd just had another call on the same driver  and would be dealing with it. They gave me a tracking # and said they'd have someone follow up with me. A+ for customer service.

Glad to hear that you & Plus1 are home safely despite all the  on your ft home!:( No alcohol?!

Good for your & Plus1's niece to express how she really feels to her great-uncle!^ Lots of healing thoughts to Plus1 & his siblings & niece.:-:

Now taking photog72 up on his recommendation -- just got seated at Zachary's in Berkeley. We shall see if this is a caliber of pizza worth crossing the Bay Bridge for.

Special props to Mackieman and Misty for hauling us all around all weekend. You definitely made life easy for me! And I'm pleased to report that there were definitely some Box moments in the van.:D

It's a requirement that Box moments happen when Mackieman is driving us around in a van. Hmmm, I have a hanckering for some hand churned butter.

I stand corrected...

Why am I watching these highlights? Why are they feeding us this?

In a few weeks, we are going to have to host a drinking Do wherein all of you show up to drink the four cases of beer and five unopened bottles of wine we now have. :-:

I'll be on the next plane, especially after looking at cheepneezy's photo report.

Well, he is Canadian. I didn't realize he's 78. He is also the star of the only movie filmed in Esperanto.
