Me too! I'm saving for a RTW trip for Mr.Brit and I. Was going to do it for our 25th wedding anniversary, but can't wait that long. So, it will be next year for our 20th.

Port is wonderful! ^ Portugal has been on my list for a number of years, so I will definitely file away your recommendation of the Ferreira tour.

I drank so much port in my 20's, I think I pickled my liver :p:p:p

You should be able to sub in PHL for JFK, but JFK has those lovely $219 fares.

If I could get the itin you mentioned at $219 with the transcon on PS, I would do it. I'm not that good on ITA.

Thursday I am finishing up my 4th straight week of PHL-IAH-SNA-IAH-PHL. $220 AI..... 5340 EQMs. The cheap price would come and go depending on the day. Just wait it out and it will come back.

^^^ How were the upgrade percentages?

All UA, with two prop segments, IIRC.

Plus 1.

All my recent attempts to burn miles have been failing and thus i'm sitting on over 500k UA miles, 700K CO miles, 150K BD and 100k of DL miles.

The priority is to burn the DL miles before I lose Plat, finally booked one reward last week, one more to go.

Wow! that's a lotta miles! If you don't want them, I'll be happy to relieve you of them ....:D:D:D:D

It may go up to ~$230 with the extra landing fees, but still not shabby for the increase in mileage returns.

I'd expect nothing less from this group. But I think I have it covered. ;)

g'day box.

Been an interesting few days. Trip home yesterday on US was relatively uneventful from an operational perspective. Was treated to a little unintended IFE when a 90 year old white-supremacist was seated between two African American gentleman. The two gentleman handled the situation very well and took the high road much to the relief of everyone on-board, especially the flight-crew. :-:

Weekend wasn't too bad, although I think I'm swearing off Hiltons for the time being. Checked-in on Saturday to find that because we didn't show up on Friday due to flights being canceled from the snow anomaly. Despite me calling and informing the front desk of our interrupted travel plans they tried to refuse accommodating us.

After 20 min. of "conversation" with the front desk they finally released a room, but charged me the rate of the two nights, for the one (it was a pre-paid rate, which, when flights get canceled I've had no trouble getting out of in the past).:rolleyes:

Get up to the room and am greeted with a little stench. After about 30 seconds I realize that the bathtub is full of feces. Let me repeat that -- the bathtub was full of feces (BBM pics can be provided if anyone wants. Maybe someone can host it on photobucket or somewhere to post in here and a post in the Hilton forum I'm going to make).

Called down to the front desk who sent a housekeeping crew up, who validated that this was, perhaps, the most disgusting thing they'd ever seen. Got the room changed, except the new room was not only next to the elevator and overlooking the parking lot (original room was ocean view) and had a broken toilet (unknown if there was a direct correlation to the poo tub). yadda yadda yadda, third room was the charm.

At check-out they provided me no concession on the room for the "inconveniences." When I told them I wanted to enact the "perfect stay" they accused me of not reporting the incidents in a timely manner. Not sure how 30 seconds after walking into the room wasn't timely.

Spoke to the MOD who refused to apologize for the incident and after some cajoling agreed to discount the room rate by 50% (remember, I was paying double for the room to begin with). This gentleman was, perhaps, the most condescending, rude, arrogant individual I've ever met in any situation. His response to the poo tub was that "it has never happened before." That's all fine and dandy, but it did happen and I even showed him the picture I took on my BB, because he was too lazy to look into the room history to find out that they did in fact move my room twice due to housekeeping / maintenance.

In all honesty, having worked at the front desk of a hotel, I'm perhaps the most sympathetic person in the world when it comes to unforeseen problems in hotel rooms. But I also have an appreciation for what the hotel can do to try and rectify that situation. Unfortunately the MOD just made matters worse.

I've fired off an email to the group sales coordinator I was working with at the property, breaking off negotiations for an event I was going to have there in July and I've contacted Hilton corporate. Tonight I'm going to email the GM of the hotel.

Let's see if they can make this right.
