Yesterday, I was on flight 2 GUM-HNL in 2D and noticed the inseat power wasn't working. I told the concierge, who was trying to rearrange people to get a family seated together, that I would like to sit in 3 D if the passenger didn't need the inseat power. (It didn't work in the second row, but did in the third row) The concierge asked the person in 3D if he would switch seats, and the passenger said no. I then asked the passenger myself, pointing out the 3 and 5 year olds in 3 A and B and that 2D and 3D were otherwise identical. He then agreed to change with me. So much for the concierge's help on this one.

(Bolding mine)

Except for the power not working in 2D

Thanks! I had no idea what to expect. For some reason I thought this was something at the airport and not on the plane.

Just flew BF from LHR-EWR yesterday. No concierge on the flight. After I boarded and sat in my seat, the FA brought me the amenity kit as well as the menu. Would have never known there was a BF concierge if I hadn't read it on FT. :p

I have not seen a BF concierge anywhere insight (Lounge or on the flt) on my last 4 BF flights across the pond. I think they are becoming an endangered species.

I had excellent service from a concierge on the plane in FRA BF yesterday. I was flying from FRA to EWR and then today I am flying from EWR to LAX and on to MEL. I wanted to get upgraded on the flight to LAX (I'm in business from LAX to MEL) but was not able to check in for the flight to LAX. I asked the concierge if she could help me out. She checked me in and I got upgraded. She also sent me an email and gave me 3,000 bonus miles because she found out that my birthday had been Wednesday! Very nice touch. So definitely worth it to me to have her stop by.

The concierges are hiding at the PC, at least where EWR is concerned. Its worth it to stop by and ask details of where one can shower at landing and other travel "problems" you may have.

Currently, this is available only on BusinessFirst flights.
On United, you need to fly First, subject to availability of Arrival lounge.

I wonder,

would the concierge be able to order a taxi/car service/ride from TLV to Jerusalem, after a BF flight?

Would I ask at the PC before my flight?

You could try, never hurts to ask.

I'm glad the Concierge is there. They are always at the flight I'm on. I always travel BusFirst. I've been met by the Concierge at my connection flight several times when its late to try and get me on the flight or have me rebooked on another with documents ready. They are also in the Pres club. Also when I have been delayed for take off in EWR for a while and would miss my connection in Europe the Concierge in EWR would have me booked on the next flight and have the Concierge meet me and other BusFist passengers that may miss connections with the new flight info. I have only had positive interactions with the Concierge, they work a lot behind the scenes for BusFirst passengers. I hope they will continue to have them with the new UA.

Asked, but was told they don't arrange that in the PC, but to ask the concierge on board. Didn't matter as I got a ride before needing to ask

Welcome to FT!! Glad to see someone start off FT with a positive post and not a rant!

I spotted a BF concierge yesterday at baggage claim for an intl flight at IAH. First time I've seen one outside of the PC or walking the BF cabin prior to departure.

She stood at the carousel for about 10 minutes doing nothing, then a random passenger went to complain about some minor baggage damage, she told him off, then she stood there another minute or two, then arbitrarily out loud said, "that's everyone!" and left.

I recognized her from an exchange when I flew BF out of IAH a couple days ago; she gave me some inaccurate info about the airport I was flying to.

Is the BF concierge truly available on the ground (pre-departure) to handle issues/requests?

And is it proper protocol to ask for them at the gate?

And are they still "grey-coated" or is this a thing of the past?

No more concierge as of the end of Feb. Was in EWR yesterday and overheard agents talking. They seem to be turning them into GS agents. Also over heard that there was an employee meeting and the mention of a GS lounge in EWR is in the works.

On EWR-DEL flight Jan 6th, a BF concierge came on during boarding and asked each BF passenger if they needed any ground assistance on arrival. Her name tag said "International Concierge."
