Technical question about CO.com

I'm a NW WP Gold who has rarely flown CO since it adopted the 50% EQMs, but I am ticketed on a mid-con to IAH this Saturday evening - if ever there's a chance for a sub-Plat Elite to get upgraded, it's got to be Saturday night non-trans-con!

Here's my question: the booking on Continental.com displays my name in a somewhat strange fashion: assume my name is John Q. Public --- the record is displaying my name as "JohnQ Public" with no space before the "Q". I'm worried about the EUA process matching names and working or not (I know NW's EUA process is very specific about names matching).

Is this the usual format? (I'm sure I did not book it this way, but a CO reservation agent had to modify my record last month due to a schedule change resulting in a 1.5 hour misconnect in IAH).

ExpertFlyer is showing A9 and the seat map shows just 4 in the "preferred" (Ha-ha) coach seating area (not surprising for a Saturday night), but I'm concerned about that name match issue. Presumably I would be eligible for EUA some time today, but I don't know exactly when it runs at CO.

Thanks in advance.

That's how my name appears as well, and there has been no issue.

You could call CO and ask if the system recognizes you as a gold...couldn't hurt.

That is the usual format. It's perfectly fine and won't affect upgrade processing or mileage posting.

You don't need to call CO to see if they recognize you as a gold elite member.

Look at the receipt for your itinerary online by the "View Receipt" link. Under the passenger section will be your Freq Flyer # and any status associated with it. It should say "NW-xxxxxxxx Gold Elite / SkyTeam Elite" (or ST1).

What's weird is that in my family it's sex dependent. i.e. Me and my son have "John Q Public" and my wife and daughter have "JohnQ Public," but we've never had any issues with the system recognizing us for EUAs and such.

Many thanks to all for your quick and accurate responses to my query yesterday.

My EUA did in fact clear right at the 72-hour Gold window without any action on my part.

I was just concerned that the mangling together of my first name and middle initial would cause eligibility problems.

I do believe that NW's EUA system would in fact pass over an otherwise eligible Elite if it found a mis-match as I described - hence my concern.

Thanks again.
