Bonjour!

Exactly one month from today, the statuesque Mrs. RNE and I will be winging our way to the City of Lights on CO54. Ah, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre, the dog poop on the sidewalks.

My question: Given that it's not a flight at mealtime (10:00 pm takeoff) will we be fed dinner? I assume all transatlantic flights serve a main meal, but I have never departed that late before, so I'm not sure.

P.S. The statuesque Mrs. RNE and I will be mugging for photographs and signing autographs in the "triangular" President's Club (where one gets to literally "look down" on the peasants below--how French!) at EWR, April 21, from 8-9pm. If you are going to be there, we'd love to meet you. Please form one line.

IME I've never had an eastbound transatlantic flight on any carrier (that I can recall) where I have not been served something called "dinner".

I would check the web site. From a quick search on a random oneway booking, the answer is:

Flight: CO54
Aircraft: Boeing 767-200
Fare Class: Economy (H)
Meal: Dinner

CO tends to be conservative in the "Meal" section. "Snack" sometimes means something more, but not (rarely?) the other way around.

How do you know you'll be in the C75-ish P Club a month before your flight? Or, do you just prefer that club to the C120 club no matter where your gate is located? (FWIW - I prefer the C120 club).

I think he uses the C-75 club because it can handle the hugh crowds better than C-120. Celbs have to keeps such facts in mind.

Nah...headd over to the newly expanded bar area all the way in the back of the C120 PC and you'll have more than enough room for all your minions to gather and fawn. Of course, there aren't enough outlets for them to all plug in their laptops and cell phones to charge, but that is their problem, right

Makes sense - it's a little more low profile than the C-120 club. Why don't you just reserve one of the conference rooms?

On my last trip, they served dinner as soon as they got up to altitude, and then a one-bite muffin and juice just before landing. If you need help with your itinerary, look into a full day bus trip to the invasion beaches in Normandy, or rent a car and do a 2 day self-tour . Standing on Utah Beach, Pt Du Hoc, Omaha, and the Cemetary on the bluff above Omaha, you get the same goosebumps as you do standing on the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

How about a link to a picture of the statuesqe Mrs. RNE. I missed the do where ya all were present, so before I buy a ticket just to come in for her autograph ,I would hope we could see one of her glamor shots.

I've always gotten dinner and some sort of snack about an hour before landing when I've had to fly in coach. But, I generally try to have dinner at Gallagher's before I get on the plane so I can go right to sleep. That way, when I land I have enough energy to see the sights.

The "Bateaubus" is a great way to get around, a boat on the Seine stopping at each of the major landmarks, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame etc. Buy a 3 day ticket, get on and off at will, stay on as long as you like to rest your sightseeing-weary legs.

Why award a place with mediocre, overpriced food and abysmal service with more business? I went once. Never again!
