Wake me for the Upgrade?
Very often when I leave EWR on or 6 or 7 am flight, I'll fall asleep as soon as I sit down in my seat. Very often I can sleep right until we land- which is great. My questions is- let's say I was UGed and the FA came to notify me of my new seat. Would he/she wake me or let me sleep?
Would you want to be woken?

Happened to me last year
I received a battlefield upgrade on an IAH-EWR leg. Like you I typically pass out as soon as I get seated. I think I was in 14A.
Anyway, the GA was hovering near my row and I happen to wake up for a second and then he approached me about the upgrade. He even said he didn't know whether to wake me or not. I have a funny feeling if I was in a deep deep sleep he may have passed me over.

Can someone design a FT bib that says "Please wake me for upgrade"?

I am so jealous of you guys! I can never sleep on a plane.
Come to think of it, maybe that's why I wasn't getting any upgrades...

Sounds like what happens to me when I see anything Shakespeare at the theatre. Invariably, the lady behind me, who is also pretending she's a Shakespeare snob, will violently kick the back of my seat to try to stop my snoring. So, dont worry about your upgrade

This (apparently) happened to me on a BOS - EWR flight. I was exhausted and there were the usual delays in takeoff. I fell asleep and woke up when we reached the end of the runway for takeoff. My traveling companion said: "The FA (he used the "S" word) came by and asked me if you were Mr. Spainflyer. When I said you were she looked a bit puzzled and shook her head, but then took off."
So, I think there is a market for those "Wake me for upgrades!" bibs.

You snooze, you lose. Just kidding.
I think that most FA's would wake a PAX for an upgrade. We know that it's important to you.
On the other hand, most will NOT wake you to take meal orders. So, if you wake up in a fog and find that there's only cereal left, that's why. Please feel free to say to the FA "can you wake me for meal orders?" We'll take cruel pleasure in obliging you.

I don't know that I would want to be woken if it was a short flight, say an hour or less...

I slept through a battlefield upgrade once. My wife took it so I don't think I'm a valid datapoint.
