EUA to/from Mexico

Mrs. F & I are celebrating 21 years of marital bliss at a spa outside CUN next week.

At 3 days out I have not yet EUAed, so I started looking around on KVS and CO.com.

KVS showed 4 CA+, & CO.com showed 7 empty seats in the first class cabin. BUT when I searched for First Class availability CO.com showed the seats as BUSINESS FIRST. Further research on KVS showed availability in the C & R (Business First) buckets but did not list an A (First Class) bucket.

Ive never had a problem upgrading to other Mexican destinations (GDL & CZM).

My question is, has there been a rule change with respect to Mexico? Is there even the possibility of an EUA or should I burn some miles?

The flights Monday in the mid afternoon and mid evening (CO764 & CO1064) look much better for upgrades than the morning and early afternoon flights. I've taken many CO flights to Central and Northern South American and all have been EUAed if they were on a 737 or 757. In general I've found CO much tighter on EUA's the last couple of years. Mostly I get upgraded at the gate.
