Finding Upgrade availibility - KVS Changes
I started a new thread because http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=446381 has a lot of old information.
As I see it, there is now NO tool anywhere that gives you the number of award seats available on a CO flight other than a phone call to CO. The new KVS ITA:Awards/Skyteam only shows if there is at least 1 seat.
Under the OLD KVS you could look and choose the flight with F9 and have a much better chance of an EUA than on a F1.
KVS's Apollo: ITN shows R availability, but that's now a revenue bucket
I guess all you can do is look at the First Class seat map on co.com and assume that a lot of empty seats is better than a few empty seats, and a lot of blue seats in coach means less elites to compete with.
Any other suggestions?

A question along these lines for the Continental experts. If one finds the R bucket available (as for instance EF shows), and there is availability for it, would that be considered good indicia of the F bucket being open?

No. There is no direct correlation between R and F availability, although it may be indicative that there are many premium cabin seats available on a given flight and date.

Maybe if we start bombarding the elite lines with calls asking about "F" inventory, they'll make it available again.
Yea, right. What a bummer.
