There is some, but not significant. I believe there's also some storage space between the window and the seat.

If legroom is really important, go for an ELR. It'll cost money if you're not elite (CO) or premier (UA), but those are the only ones that really have extra legroom.

737-700 & 737-900 Seat Selection Questions

I have questions for CO flyers that pay attention to seat differentiation the way I do. I would greatly appreciate it if you answer any questions you can.

On a CO 737-900:

(a) does the row 7 bulkhead have foot cutouts?
(b) does the row 7 bulkhead have a gap in the wall at floor level such that items can be stored under the seats in row 5? (such as with the UA AB320)
(c) Is the pitch in row 7 much better than the other non-exit rows? How much better?
(d) Do rows 7DEF and 8ABC have the same pitch?
(e) Are there frequent issues with smells from the lav wafting about row 7?

(f) does the row 1 bulkhead have foot cutouts?
(g) does row 1 have a better pitch than the other rows in first class?

(h) do rows 20 and 21 have the same pitch? Do you know what the pitch is or approximately how many inches it is better than the other economy rows on the aircraft?
(i) do 20A, 21A, 20F & 21F have real armrests on the window side or are the armrests molded into the wall of the aircraft? Are the window side armrests the normal length or are they shorter?
(j) can the person in a window seat in row 21 get out of the row without bothering the people in row 20 or 21? when the seats in row 20 are reclined? aren't reclined? (such as in row 21 of an UA 757 where you can get out of the window seat without stepping on toes or bumping the row in front excessively)

Please let me know if I can answer any questions on UA aircraft (When UA flew 737s I carried a tape measure and measured the height of the gap in the bulkhead wall and the bulkhead and exit row seat pitches of the various configurations.) I still carry a tape measure if anyone needs a specific measurement.

I was upgraded on a 753 tomorrow night to seat 1A.

The only other available one is 6F.

So which would you choose; 1A or 6F?
