You're not the only one, but there are plenty, like myself, that disagree. There are plenty of threads on this topic, so lets not rehash it here.

Again, CO* has no defined benefits so if you really are about to lose it, I doubt you'll see little (if any) difference.

CO*/COSTAR program

Is the CO*/COSTAR program still in effect?

I've never paid attention to the BP reader or the manifest, but will try to from hitheron, so I ask out of pure curiosity, no more no less.

A search yielded CO* - What does this mean? (B.2), but this post isn't appropriate for that post's thread "FAQ for Continental, OnePass and Life's Greater Mysteries" and is about the program's continuation/existence not its definition.

This program has been replaced by Presidential Platinum.

You mean it may be replaced by PP in the future. Last time I checked the BP scanner at the gate was still showing me as CO*.

There has been no official announcement that I'm aware of that says CO* will be directly replaced with / absorbed into PP.

Hi star_world, there hasn't been an official announcement because "Costar" isn't an official program! That will change later this year when the definition of Costar is retired and relaunched to identify our Presidential Platinum customers.

Thanks Scott

Please tell us how long CoStar has existed

as an unofficial "semi-hidden" program

Just hang on a few months and you can just identify them as being Global Service customers :)

CO* still exists, in all its ambiguous glory, as of June '10.

Although I can confirm that it has no impact on EUA placement. I've been number 09832408432 and 0982340923408432 on the list for my flights this week on a ticket that cost me 4 digits.

You forgot about the layover in PLI on the outbound.

For a while now (since last year) whenever they would scan my BP it would show something like CSTAR or something next to my name. I just thought it had to do with the star alliance transition, but based on this thread I guess it means I'm Co*. What is the exact string to look for on the BP scanner?

If I am Co*, it's sort of surprising since I only had 80k EQM last year (mostly domestic Y but a few high fare int'l BF trips). This year I'm at 80k already with mostly domestic transcon F and a few int'l BF). Is it really that easy to get to Co*?

Regardless, it has made no difference to my flying experience that I've noticed. And it'll be dead in a few months anyway when PPlat comes along.

Edited: Disregard my last post (which I've subsequently deleted). CO* is still alive and well as of 7/13.
